Prof. Paul Mbuthia is a collaborator on research entitled  "Enhancement of sustainable productivity if fish in the Lake Victoria through control of pollutants with Emphasis on endocrine disruptors & microbial pathogens".whose Lead Scientist is Prof. Robinson H. Mdegela (SUA Tanzania)  others are Dr Catherine Msuya (SUA Tanzania) & Dr. Dennis K. Byarugaba (MU Uganda).

Opening Keynote address by Executive Secretary, Prof. Mayunga Nkunya, at the Scientific Conference Jointly Organized by IUCEA/VicRes & held on 26th – 28th May 2014 at Imperial Golf View Hotel, Entebbe, Uganda.

The aim of this joint IUCEA/VicRes-LVBC scientific conference was to provide a platform for sharing of research results, from Lake Victoria Basin, with a wide range of end users in East Africa region and beyond in order to increase the utilization and application of the results.

The Lake Victoria Research (VicRes) Initiative is a regional collaborative-multidisciplinary research programme of the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA). It was established in 2002 following consultations among scientists, senior administrators and other experts drawn from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania and, staff of Sida/SAREC.<
